Pelvic Health

Pelvic health physiotherapy focuses on restoring function to the pelvic area. We can help with pelvic floor concerns, incontinence, prolapse, bowel problems, coccyx pain or painful sex.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Firstly, we will listen to your story, ask you lots of questions about your problem and find out what you would like to get out of physiotherapy.

We will then complete a full body assessment which normally involves an internal pelvic floor examination.

Following the assessment we will make sure you understand what is going on in your body and discuss all the contributing factors to your problem.

Finally, we will discuss your treatment options and make some exercise recommendations.

Do I need an internal pelvic floor assessment?

We may recommend an internal examination. However, we understand not everyone is comfortable with this and can discuss alternative ways to assess you.

Can I bring a chaperone?

You are more than welcome to bring a family member or friend along to your appointment to act as a chaperone.

How much does it cost?

Your initial appointment will cost £80.

Any follow up appointments required will cost £60.
